Makita's Anti-Vibration Technology is Engineered to Withstand Earthquakes

Makita has adapted the science of earthquake engineering into power tools with Makita's Anti-Vibration Technology (AVT). AVT is an exclusive innovative counterbalance design that provides the professional a power tool solution with up to 3X less vibration, less noise and more efficient power than the competition.

Seismic research has developed this damping science over years to absorb the shocks and protect buildings from devastation of earthquake vibrations.

AVT dynamic damping involves reciprocating engineering where a mechanical damper, effectively a counter balance weight, provides an equal and opposite anti-vibration force that puts an equal mass directly opposite the point at which the striker bolt delivers the impact joules to the breaker steel, carbide bit or recipro saw blade. As vibration is eliminated power is efficiently increased. Without the dissipation of power through vibration, more of the generated energy in the motor can be delivered to the tool bit itself.

The alternative designs required embody these anti-vibration physics into different Makita power tools are the patented solutions that put Makita far ahead of the competition in comfort and performance. AVT technology is available in a growing range of power tools, such as, 70 lb. Breaker Hammer, 1-9/16" Rotary Hammer, 15 AMP Recipro Saw and Jig Saws.

AVT is clearly demonstrated in the impressive model HM1810, the 70 lb. Breaker that is for heavy demolition applications. Model HM1810 outperforms the competition with 3X less vibration, powerful 15 AMP motor, 1,100 BPM, 63 joules of impact energy and all of this at a reduced noise level of only 107 dB.

The 15 AMP Recipro Saw with AVT, model JR3070CT shows how much improvement in performance is available when excessive vibration is removed. With a vibration rating of only 8.8 m/sē the Makita AVT Recipro Saw provides the professional user with 2X less vibration and 45% faster cutting.

The 1-9/16" SDS-Max Rotary Hammer, model HR4010C also features AVT Technology with 2X less vibration at only 4.5 m/sē plus produces 2,750 blows per minute. Model HR4011C produces an impressive 11 AMPS with 9.5 joules (7.0 ft.lbs.) of impact energy and has synchronized RPM and BPM to prevent overlapping impacts for up to 50% more efficient drilling. A variable speed dial with 5 different preset speeds and electronic speed control minimizes speed loss for 28% faster drilling.
