Makita Scheuring Speed Sports participates in four events to maximize team exposure.

With 20 million viewers daily watching the ESPN X Games, Makita Scheuring Speed Sports took full advantage of this exposure filmed live on Thursday and Sunday evening.

In addition to putting both Robbie and Andrew into the main event in Snocross, Robbie also participated in the new Snowmobile Knockout event where long distance jumping took place. This was the first time Robbie jumped using a ramp. In the second round Robbie was eliminated by one inch on a jump that was 126 feet long.

In freestyle Sam Rogers used one of the team’s sleds and advanced to the main event Thursday night. Sam ended the freestyle competition sixth overall with only one day of seat time on our race sled.

In the adaptive class (a class for riders with amputees or limb deficiency) Michigan driver Jim Wazny used one of our team sleds to pilot himself to a Silver Medal in the class. Jim lost one leg above the knee in 2001 in a motorcycle accident.

In Snocross action both drivers had to go through the last chance qualifier to make the main event. Robbie easily won the qualifier and Andrew finished a strong third. In the main event Robbie hit the sled lined up in front of him going into corner one and tipped. He recovered and still managed a tenth place finish. Meanwhile Andrew steadily picked his way through the pack and finished a career best sixth.

This weekend is Round Five of the AMSOIL ISOC Snocross Championship series in Rochester, New York.
